Useful information when working online

If you want to work online, here are a few points that can help to get the best from your session:

  •  I work via either Zoom or the phone so you’ll need some access to either a phone or tablet/laptop/PC.  If your internet isn’t very good, we can talk on the phone rather than cope with a difficult connection.  Even for hypnosis, there are ways of working around this.
  • If you’re having a hypnotherapy session, it can be helpful to use ear phones for the hypnosis part of the session.  They’re not essential but if you’re concerned that you may be distracted by noise in your home then they are a useful way of helping you to focus.
  • Try to find somewhere private where you can talk freely.  For counselling sessions, if you don’t have any private space at home, think about going outside or sitting in your car so that you can talk freely.
  • Always have a glass of water and some tissues to hand.  You never know if you’re going to feel upset when talking about something.
  • Let others in the house know that you’re in a meeting and don’t want to be disturbed.  You don’t have to go into details, just try to ensure your privacy as much as possible.
  • Turn off other gadgets so that you can focus on yourself without worrying if the ding on your phone is something that you should know about (unless it’s essential then obviously leave them on).
